The Source of Power and the Road to Victory
Ultimately, power (political, diplomatic, economic, military, and industrial) originates in ideas and concepts and is exercised through the utility and control of those ideas and concepts.
In other words, it is the intellect of man that gives man domain over the earth* (and other men).
On the industrial and military side, it's the stronger metal, the faster jet, the more powerful engine, the deeper oil well, the more accurate lathe, and so on. On the political and economic side, it's domestic tranquility, rule of law and a stable structure for commerce that allows the formation of power. Diplomatic power is the ability to wield the others to obtain results externally.
You can either choose to be part of the empowered or part of the controlled - there is no third path.
No matter how you slice it - the best ideas and concepts always win in the end. And the people who control and use those concepts end up in charge. It just takes longer when you have stupid people blocking progress.
When you put your good ideas to work, you are part of the winning side.

*Theists will assert that God gave man his intellect and thereby gave him domain. I typically stay away from the theistic view because I like pillaging the the liberal viewpoint on their own terrain. I'll not give them refuge from their stupidity simply because they don't accept the premise of a universal determinant of good and evil.
