Post Script to Smackdown

Although gender selective abortion in China was already well documented and the impact was making itself obvious by 1996, Hillary Clinton (name is unchanged to identify the miscreant) went to this People's Paradise to Speak to the UN Worldwide Conference on Women and ignored the problem. I think US Secretary of State Madeleine Al-bright (or not) was also in attendance.

God-given potential....Hmmmmmm. Her words, not mine.

First thing! Make sure access to birth control and abortion is unfettered.

It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food, or drowned, or suffocated, or their spines broken, simply because they are born girls

But if they happen to accidentally get out of the womb alive...then we need to protect them.

If I've got this straight, your potential is "God-given potential" if your mother decides to let you be born. But it isn't if she doesn't. So God has vested each pregnant woman with the power to vest or deny your potential with God's blessing and approval. Yeah, that's the kind of philosophical mess you get when liberals start referencing God...

The God-Given part is activated by chemical process that happens when your skin hits the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Meanwhile, back in China: This female "potential" isn't being aborted for any of the reasons the left gives for inventing the right to abortion on demand.

• Not because the woman can't afford to keep the child.
  
• Not because she was raped.
  
• Not because she's too young and unprepared for motherhood.
  
• Not because it's a medical decision between her and her doctor.
  

But because the regime discriminates against women through a policy that conflicts with traditions.

Just so you have this straight, two avowed human-rights-supporting, leftist, feminists go to a place that females are being aborted simply because they are female, and don't say a word about it. Ever notice how the left is willing to overlook human rights violations by a communist, socialist, totalitarian regime, but raises high holy hell about a Democratic, Pro-American regime protecting itself from avowed domestic enemies. Until the left is realizes that "Unfettered Access to Public Funded Abortion" may be less important than other issues, they are not going to be trusted with control of the government.
