American Empire

In my private musings recently, there's been a subtle theme that keeps surfacing. I can't really define it except as American Imperialism. American Imperialism is not like Roman Imperialism or British Imperialism or any of the expansionist tendencies of so many empires of the past. America does not want to control more real estate. America just wants more America. While on the surface that seems a contradiction or paradox but it's actually simple. Just a we have self determination, we want others to have self determination.

Mullahs do not want people to have self determination. Saudi Royals do not want people to have self-determination. Robert Mugabe, Fidel Castro, Kim Sung-Il and Senor Chavez do not want people to have self determination.

America is seductive. It reaches all around the world and affects everything and everywhere it has long arms and strong hands. Clothed in business suits, the real soldiers of American Empire travel to the far corners armed with dollars to secure vital supplies to feed the empire.

The enemy is trying to cut off our fingers. He wants to isolate us from markets and intimidate our friends.
