Ted my most excellent friend, there's strange things afoot at the Circle K.

• Scooter Libby is on trial for an alleged lie told during a two year investigation of a crime that never occurred.
  
• Two Border patrol agents are in jail for the shooting of an illegal alien drug smuggler but the bullet didn't come from either of their weapons.
  
• Tom Delay has been indicted for an act that wasn't a crime when he did it.
  
• The Senate is about to vote to continue the low troop levels that they were condemning as a failure 3 months ago.
  
• Diane Sawyer is treating Mahmoud Ahmadinejad like he's a rational, credible, responsible, advocate for world peace rather than a mostly mad religious fanatic.
  
• As he postures to surrender in Iraq, Barack Obama is evoking the memory of Abraham Lincoln (who never surrendered and even suppressed civil liberties in the Union states to make sure that he won the war and freed the slaves.)
  
• Almost everyone in Washington DC wants to let a flood of aliens into the country.
  
• Almost everyone in Washington DC refuses to fix Social Security.
  

The best thing I see out there is that the administration is forcing Iran into the limelight and the Iraqi Government into the lead. This will make it hard for the Libs to triangulate and hide. Iran is a threat and every rational player knows it. Iraqis are the solution and every rational player knows that too. And Mookie Al Sadr has fled and that isn't going to make things easier for Iran. His followers are left to the US Marines and that ain't gonna make things any easier on them.

Godspeed to all of the troops that are embarking on this most recent action. May your eyes be sharp and your wits be keen. There's tw*sted sh*t going on here in the states but over there at least you're allowed to kill the enemy. Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war.
